Google Glass Porn Ban: MiKandi Porn App Banned Immediately After Launch; Why? [VIDEO]

A porn app produced by MiKandi, an adult app store, has been banned from Google Glass, the new wearable computer from Google, shortly after being launched. The app "T*** & Glass", which allows users to view and share pornography from a point-of-view angle as well as comment and vote on their favorite content, was launched on Monday morning.

A few hours later, according to CNN, Google officially banned sexually explicit content on Glass. As of yet, according to MiKandi CEO Jesse Adams, Google has not reached out to MiKandi about the change in policies.

"We did a lot of combing through terms of use and we were very careful about playing within the rules. There was nothing against adult content at the time," Adams told CNBC. "Someone actually pointed out to us that the policies changed over the weekend, but we haven't been contacted. We thought we would get a notification or an email, but we haven't received anything."

"We don't allow Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts or sexually explicit material," Google's Glass Platform Developer Policies now reads.

ABC News reported that a Google spokesperson added that "any Glassware that violates this policy will be blocked from appearing on Glass." The network also reported that Google had said it had updated the clause last week. By Monday evening over 10,000 people had visited the site, according to the company, though only 17 Glass owners had installed it. Google has just begun to distribute a couple thousand of the $1,500 glasses through its Explorer program. Adams told CNBC that MiKandi is making changes in order to comply with the new policy.

The Glass headset features a tiny display screen positioned above the right eye which displays Internet content. It is expected to go on sale to the general public either late this year on in early 2014. The MiKandi app allowed Google Glass wearers to look at photos and watch videos filmed using Google Glass, and the company reportedly hoped to expand from offering simply first-person point-of-view videos to actual one-on-one interactions between adults using Glass.

CNN reports that in 2011, Apple sent MiKandi a cease-and-desist letter for using the phrase "app store" in its tagline, and the company has had its apps rejected from the iOS and Android app stores. In response to the latter, it opened a third-party app store for Android that allows users to download adult-content apps on their phones or tablets.
