The date we've all been waiting for has been finally announced. News broke today that The Legend of Korra season 2 will have its long-awaited debut in September 2013. It is assumed that the show will air in the 11 am time slot on Nickelodeon, as it did last year.
The Legend of Korra is an animated television series set in a fictional universe where some people can manipulate, or "bend," the elements of water, earth, fire, or air. Only one person, the "Avatar," can bend all four elements, and is responsible for maintaining a balance in the world.

The series follows Avatar Korra as she travels to the metropolis of Republic City to learn airbending and face an anti-bender revolutionary group called the "Equalists."
News of the second season of The Legend of Korra were revealed at the "Korra" panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Bryan Konietzko and Mike DiMartino, the creators of the show, announced that the long-awaited premiere of season 2, to be titled "Book 2: Spirits," is set to be released in two months.
It will focus on the young, determined, and headstrong Avatar Korra, as she learns to master the spiritual elements of being the Avatar, since, it was clear on the first season that she has some difficulty connecting to that side, tending to misuse her spiritual powers in physical pursuits.
However, in this upcoming season, Korra will face another challenge since angry spirits will surface in the physical world and she will have to keep that world safe and find out what has provoked the spirits in order to restore the balance between the two worlds.
After the official premiere date was announced, Comic-Con attendees that were lucky enough to secure a spot in the audience of the "Korra" panel, many sleeping overnight already lined up, were able to enjoy the whole first episode of the new season.
