Video of a local ABC News reporter in the central Michigan city of Saginaw is in the midst of going viral in the latest news blooper to make the rounds. Called upon to indicate to viewers how construction was progressing on downtown Saginaw roads, Siobhan Riley illustrated her brief comments on a touch screen, scrawling a quick series of lines and circles with her fingers as she spoke. In doing so, she created an image of a sort she may not have intended: a figure which bears an unmistakable likeness to a giant penis.

"Andy, this right here is a map of downtown Saginaw," the reporter said, addressing the station's news anchor, "and this construction is happening along North Michigan starting at Houghton Avenue and going all the way to State Avenue." As she spoke, she drew two semicircles with her index finger near Houghton Avenue before making two parallel lines running some eight blocks north toward State Avenue. Reaching the latter on the map, she drew a circle around its name and took her eyes from it, seemingly without realizing what she had done. "Drivers are down to the single lane in each direction and local businesses are paying the price," she concluded. The 25-second YouTube clip, which appears to have been recorded at home by a viewer, is accompanied by what sounds like muffled snickering throughout.

The clip comes not long after a local San Francisco FOX affiliate KTVU accidentally reported a racist joke during coverage of the crash of Asiana Flight 214, which killed two Chinese teenagers on their way to camp in the US and injured dozens of others. The news anchor read a list of obviously fake names supposedly belonging to the pilots -- including "Sum Ting Wong," "Wi Tu Lo," "Ho Lee Fuk" and "Bang Ding Ow" -- and indicated the names had been confirmed by the National Transportation Safety Board.

The station's mistake was caught before the broadcast was over, and a statement was quickly drawn up. "Earlier in the newscast we gave some names of pilots involved in the Asiana Airlines crash," it read. "These names were not accurate despite an NTSB official in Washington confirming them late this morning. We apologize for the error."

It remains to be seen whether the Michigan clip will ascend to such lofty heights of viral stardom as other similar penis-related news blooper clips in the past.
