Notre Dame
No. 14 Notre Dame will now focus on the upcoming game at No. 17 Michigan. The Associated Press

With the first official week of the college football season in the books, the Associated Press recently released its updated version of the Top 25. Teams expected to have major campaigns in 2013 including Alabama, Oregon, Texas A&M and Ohio State remain high on the list while up and coming teams such as Baylor and Washington find themselves in the first regular season poll after not cracking the preseason Top 25. Plenty of football remains however and as the weekends come and go, expect multiple changes to occur in the rankings heading into the Bowl season.

The Alabama Crimson Tide - winners of consecutive BCS National Championships - remain in the top spot after receiving 58 of a possible 60 votes thanks to their defeat of Virginia Tech on Saturday. Ohio State finished the 2012-2013 season undefeated but thanks to a postseason ban, the Buckeyes and head coach Urban Meyer did not have the opportunity to play for a title. Taking down Buffalo to start their season, the Bucks come in at No. 3 while Oregon moved up a spot to take hold of the No. 2 slot. Clemson lands at No. 4 after defeating Georgia 38-35 to begin the season, the team's highest ranking in the poll since 1988. David Shaw and the Stanford Cardinal round out the top 5 even though the team remained idle over the weekend. Last season's BCS Championship runner-up Notre Dame remained at No. 14 after disposing of the Temple Owls 28-6 over the weekend.
