“American Horror Story” Season 3 “Coven” is getting a new character, and it’s a man! In the female dominated Season 3 cast, Alexander Dreymon will be welcomed addition to “Coven.” Dreymon, a relatively unknown actor, will be joining the FX miniseries in a currently nameless role of “handsome young man.” The 30-year-old has landed a “major recurring role” on the show, his charcater will reportedly be moving into the line of fire. Dreymon's character will live directly next door to the witch academy in New Orleans, ensuring plenty of cross-over between the young man and the rest of the witchy cast.

Season 3 of “American Horror Story” will premiere on October 9 with its debut episode “Bitchcraft.” Episode 1 and the entire season will follow the plights of a displaced group of Salem witches who discover a group of voodoo priestesses in New Orleans. An exciting feature of Season 3 will be a time spilt that takes place in the plot. The storyline of “Coven” will be split between modern day and the 1830’s. A newly released FX synopsis for “Bitchcraft” explains that unexplainable assaults have been occurring in the present day, and the victims of these “mysterious attacks” are witches who survived the Salem witch trials over 320 years ago. Due to the increased threat against witches, young girls are being sent to a “special school,” or “academy.” The full synopsis reads, "Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe, who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona, the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way."

At the witch academy, these young witches will be instructed on how to protect themselves from the attacks and the new threat from Fiona, the Supreme witch. Fiona is played by Jessica Lange, her character arrives at the school after hearing of the attacks. According to IBTimes, Fiona will instruct Zoe, played by Taissa Farmiga, a new arrival at the school who is “harboring a terrifying secret of her own.”

Dreymon’s still unknown character may fit in to the witch’s plot in several different ways. The handsome young man may be connected to the secretive Zoe, who seems to be an important wildcard in “Coven.” In addition, Dreymon may become the foil to Evan Peter’s character who is rumored to be involved in a love triangle with Roberts' and Farmiga’s characters. Considering the lack of male characters, it seems most likely that Dreymon’s character will be revealed during the second episode on Oct. 16 entitled, "Boy Parts."
