Trouble is on the horizon for the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy XV." And while people say any publicity is good publicity, this news is anything but good for Square Enix and their fans! Yosuke Matsuda, president of Square Enix, has provided some insight into the reason as to why the release dates for both "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy XV" are delayed. Matsuda admitted that Square Enix, the company responsible for publishing both games, has been plagued with serious financial troubles, more so "one of the factors behind our losses is a delay from development to the market" of the two money-making games was one of the factors behind their losses.

The company is losing money due to the long delay, but the company also has little money to combat the long waiting process. Matsuda explained that the release date delay plaguing both KH3 and Final Fantasy 14 reduces the communications from developers to fans. Meaning fans are uninterested, in order to reignite their fan base, Matsuda and Square Enix is pushing to establish a system that forces that company to interact with their loyal consumers. And while the president insists on change, "we need to establish a system that will meet the needs of our customers in a more timely manner. Not quite so leisurely, and with one-year terms. We have to enact urgent changes." He didn't really elaborate on what type of changes Square Enix plans on enacting.

Both "Kingdom Hearts 3" and Final Fantasy 14" have been heavily afflicted with long release date delays. And while originally the problem was blamed on slow production, it seems it also has to do with a lack of available finances. But as we have previously reported this is not the only issue with these two franchises. The same game director serves on both titles, and while most assume he would spilt his time, he does not.

Tetsuya Nomura serves as game director for both "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy XV," and will it seems like FF14 won't see the light of day any time, KH3 is even further behind to the lack of production on the game from Nomura. "Kingdom Hearts 3" producer Shinji Hashimoto confirmed the lack of production on the game in a recent interview with IGN. Hashimonto stated that due to the focus on "Final Fantasy XV" there was simply no way to navigate around a delayed release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3." "A lot of people have wondered for the last couple of years if Square Enix has actually been working on Kingdom Hearts III; that's why we announced it at E3 this year," the Kingdom Hearts 3 producer told IGN, adding, "But please, we need you all to understand that there's a lot to do."

So now that there are financial troubles atop an already delayed release date, when will we actually see "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy 14" We originally believed that it would be unlikely to KH3 on the next-gen home consoles before 2015, but that was based off a rumors 2014 release date for FF14. If the next installment of "Final Fantasy" is delayed further until a 2015 release, we could be looking at solid 3-year waiting period for "Kingdom Hearts 3."
