We are deeply sorry. Earlier this month, we learned JapNation AniManga confirmed that the "Attack On Titan" Season 2 release date is July 26, 2014. Finally, after endless months of anticipation, we were eager to have "Attack On Titan" return this summer. Unfortunately, we were led on. The "Attack On Titan" Season 2 premiere will not be released this month.

Reports regarding the July 2014 "Attack On Titan" Season 2 release date surfaced as early as April. Given the timing, it is surprising that so many anime reporters, including myself, did not catch catch that the July 2014 release date was only an April Fools prank. In fact, according to iDigitalTimes, "Attack On Titan" anime creator Wit Studios have not even begun work on Season 2 yet. That's right: "Attack On Titan" Season 2 will not be until 2015, the earliest.

If Wit Studios have not even begun workin on "Attack On Titan" Season 2, then what on Earth are they up to? According to iDigitalTimes, the studio is working on a separate anime that will be packaged with the "Attack On Titan" Manga. That said, just because we won't get "Attack On Titan" Season 2 until 2015, it doesn't mean there won't be any "Attack On Titan" content in the meantime. "Attack on Titan" season 1, part 2 English dub for DVD and Blu-Ray will drop on September 23. What's more, the first part of the "Attack on Titan" live action movie will premiere in Japan in November.

"The manga comic the anime is based on is still ongoing, and all of us on the staff are following and loving it," said head of Wit Studios. "Eventually, we definitely want to do a sequel. This year, though, we've got our hands full producing an anime that will be bundled in a limited edition of the Attack on Titan manga, which tells a different sort of story than what we did in the TV series."
