Mexican professional boxer Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez is preparing for one of the biggest fights of his life so far against Floyd Mayweather on Sept. 14 in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, his story has inspired a song and now a telenovela.

Renown Mexican producer Juan Osorio is holding a casting call to select a kid who will portray the boxer in a new Televisa production that will feature some highlights of Canelo's life story.

Osorio is looking for 10 kids between ages 7 and 11, that resemble Álvarez. The chosen ones will be presented next Sunday at the Monumento a los Niños Héroes del Bosque in Chapultepec, México, at the same time that Mayweather and Álvarez are promoting their anticipated fight in 11 cities in the US and the Mexican capital.

"What I want to do is a telenovela with a subplot that has to do with boxing as an aspirational sport, focusing on all the suffering and struggles kids have to go through to win a championship. I will start with the kid that looks like Canelo Álvarez and portray the way the boxer starter preparing, since he already had his gloves on when he was 10," said Osorio.

The future production also includes a mariachi track composed by Alejandro Sánchez dedicated to the Mexican boxing champion, and will be interpreted by singer Alejandro Ávila. The song will also premiere next Sunday.

"We're doing all of this to support Canelo, because right now we really need to believe in someone. We're doing our part, now Canelo will have to step up and do his on Sept. 14 on the boxing ring," added the producer.
