"Devious Maids" finished off its premiere season this past Sunday on Lifetime with the murder mystery finally resolved and a cliffhanger that is going to make us want to tune in next season. The freshman dramedy faced a fierce competition with the Emmy Awards, the series finale of "Dexter" on Showtime and the penultimate episode of "Breaking Bad" on AMC, but despite this the Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria produced show was able hit an all time ratings high. Three million viewers tuned in to witness how the maids came together to uncover the man that killed Flora at the beginning of the season. This finale number is up 19% from the previous week's 2.52 million and a whopping 50% increase than the 2 million that saw the series premiere in June.

The series based on Mexico's "Ellas... Son La Alegria Del Hogar" has beat out the original as it scored a 13-episode second season order, feat that the Televisa version didn't obtain. The story follows the lives of a group of maids working in the upscale community of Beverly Hills. Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez and Judy Reyes are the center of the drama that unfolds in this neighborhood where everyone has a secret. The season long story arc focused on finding out who murdered Flora and a new maid played by Ortiz that makes it her mission to find out who did it. The season ended with Rosie (Ramirez) being taken by immigration after Peri calls them as revenge for sleeping with her husband.

According to Variety, "Devious" also bested key demos in adults 18-49 (1.4 million), adults 25-34 (1.3 million) and women 18-49 (1.2 million). With a core cast of Hispanic women, the show's audience is rougly 19% Hispanic, nearly double the network's primetime average. The second season of "Devious Maids" is expected to premiere in the summer of 2014 on Lifetime. Are you happy for "Devious Maids'" success?
