Downton Abbey Season 4 Christmas Special
Image iTV

Downtwon Abbey is back this Christmas for a very special episode that has the Crawley family visiting Buckingham Palace. SPOILER ALERT! (Don't read pass this point if you have not finishing watched Season 4) iTV has aired a preview of what we can expect and it looks like we are in for a game-changing event. In the teaser we can see Martha Levinson return with Shirley MacLaine reprising her role as Cora's mother. The silly banter between her and the Countess of Grantham (Maggie Smith) is sure to be quotable as the two ladies don't particularly like each other. The flashy trailer shows off the Crawley's as they go to London and we get a glimpse of the royal family, King George V and Queen Mary. In true Downton Abbey style, with their passive aggressiveness, Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) approaches Mr. Bates (Brendan Coyle) and says, "I expect many people must regret things they got up to in London." This in allusion to who might of killed Mr. Green (Nigel Harman) after Bates found out he raped Anna (Joanne Froggatt). WATCH THE CLIP DOWN BELOW!

Downton Abbey's Christmas special will also have MacLane hauling over her son, which will be played by American actor Paul Giamatti. He will be playing Cora's brother, Harold Levinson and will cause some drama and the Countess of Grantham will actually like him, as opposed to his mother. The Downton Abbey Christmas Special will have Isobel Crawley discover she has an admirer while Ethel will struggle with a "moral dilemma," it was reported earlier. Carson will take the downstars staff on a day out and Daisy will get an "unexpected invitation." The Crawleys will face a scandal that will threaten their position and has Robert go to great lenghts to protect his family and the royals. No clear word if the storyline will pick up from where Season 4 finale left off, with Mr. Bates being eyed as a suspect of killing Mr. Green.
