Luis Guzman

An Orthodox Jewish newspaper in New Jersey has made a rather epic blunder. The Lakewood Shopper, based out of Lakewood New Jersey published a story regarding the capture of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, however instead of putting a photo of the infamous Mexican drug dealer, the paper put a photo of Puerto Rican-American actor/comedian Luis Guzmán. While they both share the same last name, that is where the similarity between these two Latinos stops!

Luis Guzmán reacted on Twitter saying "Lakewood Shopper you owe me a fuckin apology!!! Wtf." However, the paper has yet to issue an apology to Guzmán. Luis, that is, although perhaps "El Chapo" deserves an apology as well. Luis Guzmán is well-known on the New York stand-up comedy circuit as well as playing Latino characters in films like "Waiting," "Carlito's Way," "Anger Management," and "Boogie Nights." The gaff was first picked up by Twitter user @MaleiRikud.

The real "El Chapo" Guzman was captured on February 22nd in Mazatlan, Mexico. And while there has been some controversy regarding the identity of the man captured, there is no doubt that it is not Luis Guzmán. No charges have yet been laid against the Sinaloa Cartel leader, however, he is wanted for drug traficking, bribery, extortion, robbery, murder and conspiracy not only in Mexico but in 7 U.S. states. No formal request for extradition has yet been made from the United States Government.
