How long have you been waiting for “Friends” on Netflix? Well your Wednesday just got a whole lot better because the beloved series is finally making its way to the live streaming TV service. Fans of the series have been vying for “Friends” to make an appearance, with multiple online articles claiming that it was the most missed series from Netflix’s genuinely impressive line up of shows.

The series, which is considered a sitcom, was created by David Crane and Marta Kaufmann and ran on NBC for a notable 10 seasons, first premiering in September of 1994 and airing it’s series finale in May of 2004. “Friends” stars Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, Courtney Cox as Monica Geller, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing and David Schwimmer as Monica’s older brother Ross Geller, as six friends, later husbands, wives, partners, mainly in their now iconic West Village apartment building where they discuss the trials and tribulations of romance, careers, life and of course Joey’s perpetually “budding” career as an actor.

A press release from Netflix revealed the exciting news stating, “NETFLIX is excited to announce that all 10 seasons, 236 episodes and 83 hours of FRIENDS will be available exclusively on Netflix starting January 1, 2015. This marks the first time the iconic series will be available on a streaming subscription service.” Now if you were a fan from the start, or have never watched “Friends” you can watch each and every episode in order from start to finish. Despite the exciting news from Netflix, every loyal “Friends” fan knows that nothing will ever replace their huge “Friends: The Complete Series” DVD box set of all 10 seasons!

“Friends” received positive reviews during its 10-year run, and even more accolades following its finale. The series was nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning the Outstanding Comedy Series award in 2002 for its eighth season. Way after its finale episode in 2013, Friends ranked 24th on the Writers Guild of America's 101 Best Written TV Series of All Time and 28th on TV Guide's 60 Best TV Series of All Time.
