The "Game of Thrones" Season 5 release date isn't until Spring 2015, but the offseason has not dampened fan mania at all. On Monday, Buzzfeed shared an interesting "Game of Thrones" fan theory that suggests a shocking secret about Tyrion Lannister. According to the theory, Tyrion Lannister could be a Targaryen.

According to the show thus far, Tyrion Lannister is the dwarf son of Tywin and Joanna Lannister. However, the theory on Buzzfeed claims that Tyrion's father is actually King Aerys Targaryen, the Mad King, who is also the father of Daenerys.

As the theory goes, Tywin served as the Hand of the King to Aerys. However, Aerys raped Joanna and impregnated her. Naturally, the pregnancy enraged Tywin. In an attempt to abort the baby, Tywin used a drug. However, the drug did not kill the child, but it could explain why Tyrion Lannister was born a dwarf. Unfortunately, Joanna was killed during childbirth.

Maybe the theory is a little far fetched, but there are several pieces of evidence that support the claim. If we examine Tywin's actions, it will explain why he wanted to dethrone King Aerys Targaryen. It also explains his hatred towards Tyrion. Remember that Tywin's last words were "You are no son of mine," when he was killed by Tyrion. Also, remember Tywin's cold refusal to entertain Tyrion's demands for Casterly Rock, which Tyrion claimed was his, by right, as a Lannister son.

In addition, according to the book, Tyrion's complexion is very close to a Targaryen. In the book, Tyrion possesses Targaryen's white-blond hair as well as different colored eyes, which could possibly symbolize Tyrion's half-Targaryen half-Lannister blood.

If the Tyrion Targaryen theory is true, it will also fulfill a second "Game of Thrones" mystery. Tyrion dreamed of dragons, as did Daenerys. It is implied that Jon Snow, the bastard son, has dreamed of dragons as well. The three individual's sensitivity to the presence of dragons also matches the prophesy given to Daenarys at the House of the Undying: "The dragon has three heads."

Finally, according to "Game of Thrones," a true dragon is "born of blood." The mothers of Jon Snow, Daenerys, and Tyrion have all died with giving birth to them. Tywin especially reminds Tyrion of this every chance he gets.

While the evidence supporting Tyrion's Targaryen origins is strong, there is evidence that also supports that Tyrion is not Targaryen after all.

Though there is reference that King Aerys did rape Tywin's wife on their wedding night, the biggest plot hole in the "Game of Thrones" theory is that Tyrion is not the eldest Lannister-- Jaime and Cersie are both older than Tyrion. This could suggest the ultimate irony that Tyrion is in fact Tywin's only legitimate heir. If Jaime and Cersie carry Targaryen blood, it also explains why King Joffrey was so often compared to the Mad King's rage.

As for the three headed dragon, another popular fan theory suggests Daenerys and Jon Snow make two-thirds of the three-headed dragon. According to the theory, Jon Snow is not Ned Stark's bastard, but actually the child of Rhaegar Targaryen and Ned's sister Lyanna. Stark. So who will make the third head? According to the rumors, Rhaegar's son Aegon is alive and hiding. Aegon makes the third head.
