The Academy Awards have come once again: the Oscars have been given out, the dresses marveled at and the performances praised. It was a night with few surprises. "12 Years A Slave" took out the Best Picture category, however, "Gravity" was the big winner of the night taking out seven awards including Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Affects. Cate Blanchett took home Best Actress and Mathew McConaghey took hom Best Actor.

Alfonso Cuarón has swept the Academy Awards with an incredible seven wins for his film, "Gravity." The film won Best Achievement in Visual Effects, Best Achievement in Sound Mixing, Best Achievement in Sound Editing, Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Editing, and, of course, Best Director. However, the night's ultimate gong went to Steve McQueens epic slavery tale "12 Years A Slave."

There were stellar performances with Idina Menzel, U2 and Pink all performing over the course of the evening. "Frozen" took out two awards including 'Best Animated Feature' and Best Song for "Let It Go." Mexican born Kenyan actress Lupita Nyongo'o took out the award for Best Supporting Actress in "12 Years A Slave" while Jared Leto won Best Supporting Actor in "Dallas Buyers Club." All in all it was a great night recognizing Hollywood's best.
