A steady stream of upcoming updates and DLC packs mean "GTA 5" is only getting started. However, "GTA 6" rumors are already surfacing! According to reports, "GTA 6" is slated to release in 2017. To top it all off, some rumors are even suggesting that Rockstar is working on the second installment of "Red Dead Redemption."

"GTA 6" Rumors suggest the franchise will once again return to Liberty City, Rockstar's elaborate interpretation of the hustling and bustling New York City. However, nobody ever said Grand Theft Auto must take place in one single location. For "GTA 6," Liberty City could be joined by Los Santos as well as new areas inspired by foreign cities like Paris, London, and Brazil.

"At the moment it feels like [Grand Theft Auto's] D.N.A. is contemporary-ish, America-ish, English-speaking-ish, because that's what it has been... But that doesn't necessarily limit it to those, that's just what we've done so far," said Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar, in an earlier interview.

Despite the rumors, Rockstar Games has neither confirmed or denied the "GTA 6" release date. Given the assorted mix of project that Rockstar is tackling at the same time, the spring 2017 release date is a loose date, at best. Case in point, according to reports, Rockstar is also working on "Red Dead Redemption 2." In fact, industry specialists estimates the "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date to be right before the 2015 holiday season, or sometime in November 2015. It is not clear whether or not the new installment will still feature John Marston's family.

"We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA VI will be, but we've got some ideas. GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing V and then online. Plus we have some other things - stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly - that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones." said Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies. We can't decide whether "45 years worth" is hyperbole, but even if the number is cut in half, it is still an unbelievable long-term plan.

For the moment, Rockstar is readying the "GTA5" release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One this fall. Stay tuned as we learn more about "GTA 6" and "Red Dead Redemption 2" in the months ahead. Let us know which game you are more excited to play!
