"How I Met Your Mother'" may be coming to an end, but the sitcom's storyling could be continuing, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. CBS has been in talks with 20th Century Fox TV for a potential spinoff that would follow a female narrative similar to the original series. The spinoff would not feautre the original cast, however, it would be written by the original's creators, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. The new set up would have a similar group of friends, however it would follow a female character as she searches for a father for her children. The major set piece of MacLaren's may even make a return.

"How I Met Your Mother" is nearing the end of its final season. In this ninth and final season, the show focus' on Barney and Robin's wedding. "How I Met Your Mother" has become increasingly important to CBS after "Bing Bang Theory" and "Two And A Half Men" moved to Thursday: the show is now CBS highest-rating Monday night show. This season has a 3.7 adults 18-49 rating is the second-highest rated series behind "The Big Bang Theory." "Modern Family," "Arrow", "The Walking Dead" and "Breaking Bad" are all also considering spin offs.

In last Monday's episode of "How I Met Your Mother," "Knight Vision" Ted was on the hunt to find the perfect wedding date. "True Blood's" Anna Camp (Sarah Newlin) guest starred in the episode as a prospective date for Ted. Meanwhile Barney and Robin stole Lily and Marshall's first meeting story to impress a minister. The official synopsis for "Knight Vision" reads: When Ted finds himself with three prospects to be his date for the wedding weekend, he chooses poorly. Meanwhile, Barney and Robin have a confrontation with their minister, and Marshall learns more about his driving companion, Daphne.
