It would seem that Apple is really interested in competing with Samsung smartphones this year. According to MacRumors, Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company added to the rumors that apple would be making the iPhone 6 screen bigger. Arcuri claimed that the iPhone 6 will ship with a 4.8-inch display, a significant increase over the 4-inch display of the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. Arcuri also indicated that the next-generation iPhone will come with the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard which could reach speeds over 1 Gigabit per second.

Meanwhile it is being reported that Apple is becoming more and more interested in biometrics going into their devices. Touch ID was Apple's first foray into biometrics, confirming user identity via fingerprint and now it seems Apple is looking to take that a step further by introducing their own iris scanning feature into the iPhone 6. Websites like 9to5Mac have reported that Apple is looking into the iris scanning feature to compete with Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S5 smartphone, which is said to have the same feature.

An official release date for the iPhone has yet to be revealed but many speculations have been made. While many believe the next iPhone iteration will be released at WWDC others believe it will arrive this fall. According Timothy Arcuri, Apple will launch its updated iPhone in September, which is on trend with previous Apple iPhone releases. Although Arcuri does not mention dual iPhone sizes, some iPhone 6 rumors have indicated Apple might release the smartphone in multiple sizes, which could range from 4.7 to 5.7 inches.
