iPhone 6 might be over $100 dollars more expensive than the iPhone 5S, according to Business Insider. According to Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, "our checks indicate Apple has started negotiating with carriers on a $100 iPhone 6 price increase. The initial response has been no, but there seems to be an admission that there is no other game-changing device this year." According to the website, iPhone 6 may be "the only phone that matters" this year, legitimizing the price jump.

iPhone 6 is by far the most anticipated phone this year. According to a new study from Piper Jaffrays, 61 percent of teenagers would rather have an iPhone than any other phone on the market. Likewise with tablets, 66 percent of those who don't have a tablet would prefer to have an iPad over any other brand. Clearly, Apple has cornered the youth market and iPhone 6 is going to fly off the shelves, no matter how much more it costs. Apple has been so far tight lipped on iPhone 6 details.

iPhone 6's many new rumored features might also be responsible for the price hike. WIth a 5.5-inch display, a faster A8 processor, iOS 8 and TouchID fingerprint sensor, this new phone is going to potentially blow competition out of the water. There is also a possibility that the larger phone will seek to enter the 'phablet' market, thereby also increasing the price. As Business Insider points out, "Samsung's phablet, the 6-inch Galaxy Note 3 sells for $100 more than its 5-inch Galaxy S5."
