Haiti and Jamaica will meet on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Gold Cup. Each country will be looking to take the necessary step to dethrone the United States as Champions, and a win means they could face the title holders in the semifinals next week.

After a sloppy opening game of Group play, Jamaica has come roaring back and appears to be one of the best teams of the tournament. The 76th ranked team in the world who is more known for Rasta wigs and reggae music is playing great as of late, and come in as the current champions of the Caribbean Cup over Trinidad and Tobago, who has also surprised soccer experts with their play this tournament.

The best player on Jamaica has easily been goalkeeper Dwayne Miller who missed the second half of Jamaica's last match against El Salvador with a head injury. He is currently listed as "questionable" to be in the net on Saturday, but we expect him to be between the pipes come game time.

Jamaica came out of Group B as the top seed over heavily favorite Costa Rica, who reached the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil last year. After a draw against Los Ticos, Jamaica defeated Canada and El Salvador to advance out of the group. Garath McClearly has two goals for the Reggae Boyz, and Jermaine Taylor has been stellar defensively.

Jamaica will be favorite against Haiti, and if they can slip by the Haitans, they find themselves in great position to have their best ever finish in the Gold Cup tournament. In 1993, Jamaica finished third behind the United States and Mexico.

Despite only being four rankings behind Jamaica in the most recent FIFA standings, Haiti will be heavy underdogs on Saturday. They are 9-17 all-time against Jamaica and needed a 1-0 upset over Honduras in their last game of Group play to advance to the quarterfinals.

Duckens Nazon scored the only goal in that game, and he will need to find the back of the net against Jamaica for Les Grenadiers took pull off the upset. Haiti has not beaten Jamaica since 1984, and the last time they defeated the Reggae Boyz in a competition was in the Caribbean Cup in 1979.

One thing that could benefit Haiti was the strength of their Group A opponents. After a 1-0 loss to the United States which they showed toughness, physicality and grit, they tied 2013 runner-ups Panama 1-1. After their victory over Honduras who qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, they could be prime and ready to upset Jamaica.

Haiti will need to play with the same toughness and aggression they did against the United States and Honduras. They will need to be physical and take the match to the Jamaicans early on. Both teams have good defense, so the game's first goal could also be it's last. Look for Jean Sony Alcénat to lead Jamaica in the midfield and for goalkeeper and captain, Johnny Placide to make plenty of saves for the underdogs.
