Telemundo has made a huge announcement as they sparked a deal with Jenni Rivera Enterprises (JRE) to produce a number of series and specials inspired by "La Diva De La Banda." Jenni Rivera continues to have presence in the entertainment industry as fans keep her alive through her music and shows she appeared in before her untimely death. The Spanish-language network announced they will develop the only official bio-musical series based on Jenni Rivera's life, produce multiple tribute concerts, and a series of “Jenni Vive” annual specials associated with Jenni's Love Foundation.

"We are excited to partner with Telemundo and the NBCUniversal family to bring to the world the only official television series based on Jenni's life," said Jenni Rivera Enterprises. "Jenni's extraordinary career, passion for life, and infinite love for her family are a story never before told on television. Telemundo and JRE are dedicated to together growing Jenni's powerful legacy through this series, the music tribute concerts and other historic projects."

"We are both proud and humbled that the Rivera family has chosen Telemundo to do the only authorized television series about her life," said Luis Silberwasser, Telemundo Network president. "We look forward to working with Rosie, Juan and the entire family to preserve Jenni's legacy and bring to our audiences the story of one of the most inspiring and powerful icons of the Hispanic community."

JRE was founded by La Gran Señora herself, a multi-double platinum recording artist. Today, Rivera Jenni Enterprises is closely managed by Jenni Rivera's children, and Rosie Rivera Flores and Juan Rivera, Jenni Rivera's sister and brother, who are dedicated to preserving Jenni Rivera' rich legacy. JRE is the only entity that owns and controls the iconic Mexican-American star's life story rights. JRE also manages the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation, a non-profit organization that was particularly important to Jenni for its support of abused and battered women.

News of the production of Jenni Rivera's bio-musical series comes as rival network Univision made the announcement that they will also produce a show based on the singer's life. The tentative title of the program is called "Su Verdadero Nombre Era Dolores" (Her Real Name Was Dolores). In a field dominated by men, a woman with an overwhelming personality breaks through based on her talent, tenacity and intelligence. "Su Verdadero Nombre Era Dolores" is the story of the perfectly imperfect woman, a single mother of five children, the "butterfly" of the neighborhood, who one day returns as "The Diva of Banda," the unrelenting Jenni Rivera.

Jenni Rivera captivated millions of fans with powerful and relatable music, and with a headline-grabbing personal life that often played out in the tabloids. This biopic series reveals the true woman behind the music and the headlines as told by her former manager, Pete Salgado, the man she publicly referred to as her fifth brother. Shot on location in Los Angeles and Mexico, fans will get Salgado's previously untold perspective on the woman he knew, consoled and managed, to help her millions of fans understand the real woman behind the music.
