The season has just started on network television, but they are already looking ahead to next year and putting into development new projects. The CW is so in love with the adaptation of "Juana La Virgen" telenovela into "Jane The Virgin" it has now placed some hope in another remake from a succesful telenovela. Based on the Chilean series "Primera Dama" the network has scored an English-language version being produced by Jennifer Garner. The original story written by Sebastián Arrau who's credits include Telemundo's "La Impostora" and "El Rostro De La Venganza" follows the life of an ambitious woman that goes from rags-to-riches. Starring Celine Reymond as Sabina Astudillo moves from her small town to the capital to make it on her own. There she meets an older man that she later marries and who is also a candidate for the presidency of the country.

"First Lady" for the U.S. network will be a little different. The adaptation written by Jenni Ross will follow that same woman that goes from rags-to-riches from illegal immigrant to the White House. There she will battle injustice and her own shameful past that will come back to haunt her. With immigration being a hot-button issue, especially with the Presidential elections coming up in the United States, this series will come in at a very timely moment. Garner is attached to executive produce the project along with Tariq Jalil under her banner Vandalia Films. "Primera Dama" already had an adaptation in Colombia for the Caracol network. That version starred Carina Cruz as the titled character with Javier Jattin ("Las Trampas Del Deseo"), Kathy Saenz ("Pura Sangre") and Christian Meier ("La Malquerida") in the lead roles.
