Joshua Mintz has been a pillar at the Telemundo network for many years. He has been credited as executive producer of some of the biggest hits like "El Señor De Los Cielos," "La Patrona" and "La Reina Del Sur." It seems like we are going to be entering a new era at the Spanish-language broadcaster as La Opinion is reporting that Mintz has quit and is leaving his post as Executive Vice President, Scripted Programming and General Manager at Telemundo Studios. "Joshua Mintz has informed us of his intent of leaving Telemundo," the statement reads. "The executives that reported to Mintz will now report directly to Luis Silberwasser, president of Telemundo."

Joshua Mintz, who is married to actress Martiza Rodriguez, has been part of the networks growth in the past year. He was able to secure talent deals with big stars like Kate Del Castillo, Rafael Amaya, Eugenio Siller, Sara Maldonado, Aracely Arambula, Edith Gonzalez, Victoria Ruffo and many more. One of his biggest achievements was "La Reina Del Sur" which completely changed the direction of their original productions. After that the "super series" time slot was created for these types of short-form serial telenovelas like "El Señor De Los Cielos" and "Señora Acero," which he oversaw.

Rumor has it that Mr. Mintz has been called by the Azteca network in Mexico, which is in dire need of a makeover. The broadcaster has slowed down the production of originals as they focus on a new strategy and try to figure out what to do with their programming. With a new broadcaster coming later this year, Azteca needs to get their act together as the advertising pie will shrink even more.
