The popular "Kuroko no Basket" manga will come to an end in Issue 40 of "Shonen Jump." According to Crunchyroll yesterday, rumors say that the final chapter of "Kuroko's Basketball" will be in next week's Shonen Jump, which will release on September 1.

Initially, Crunchyroll insisted it was too soon to confirm whether or not the latest rumor is a hoax. However, Anime News Network and Comic Book Resources have both confirmed the announcement. At this point, "Kuroko no Basket" would end just one chapter short of the original "Slam Dunk" basketball manga.

Last week, we mentioned that the "Kuroko's Basketball" anime would return for Season 3 by March 2015. "Kuroko's Basketball" Season 3 will introduce us to a new character named Shogo Haizaki. The Seirin basketball team will first meet Haizaki following their match with Yosen. When Haizaki notices Alexandra after the game, he begins to aggressively come onto her. Himuro and Kagami get involved and warn Haizaki to back off. Kagami nearly gets into an all-out fist fight with Haizaki but was stopped before things escalated.

Shogo Haizaki was once a regular at Teiko Junior High and was one of the original members of the "Generation of Miracles" before he was replaced by Ryota Kise. In the upcoming season, Shogo Haizaki and his Fukuda Sogo Academy basketball team will play against Ryota Kise of Kaijo High.

Stay tuned as we find out more about the anime in the months ahead!
