News of the murders of Mexican film director Leon Serment and his producer wife took Mexico by storm. It is being reported that their son might be responsible for the untimely deaths.

According to FOX News Latino, the death of Serment and his wife were arranged by their son for the equivalent of about $5,200 per victim. Prosecutor Rodolfo Rios said at a news conference that the unnamed son and his girlfriend were responsible for the deaths. The unnamed son, girlfriend and two others who ordered and carried out the killings were arrested last Thursday.

The prosecutor believes that the incident was allegedly planed over a two-month period.

Video evidence showed the attackers lying in wait and using their cellphones as others passed before attacking Serment, leading investigators to believe that he was a specific target. Just a half-hour after the killing, the attackers withdrew money from ATMs and made a purchase at a convenience store using the director’s bankcards.

Serment’s wife, Adriana Rosique, told police officers that the son never really visited his father and that the girlfriend had been sending messages while they were at his home.

Rosique was found hanging in her home on Sept. 19. The son reportedly told police he had left the home that night to take his girlfriend to a hospital, and didn't learn of his mother's death until the following morning. Strangely enough there was no record of their presence at the hospital, but video recordings showed them walking around streets in the area.

Rios claimed that the video cameras showed the son leaving the home while using his cellphone and simultaneously allowing two attackers to enter.

"It is the son who leaves the door to the house open," the prosecutor said.

While investigators searched the home of one of the alleged attackers, a bankcard in Rosique’s name had been found that was used to make daily withdrawals since her death.

It is said that the son harbored malice for his parents and they did not approve of his relationship with his girlfriend. The publication reports that Mexican journalist Joaquin Lopez-Doriga said that both victims had life insurance. The day before Rosique’s death, there was an argument at the home between her, the son and the girlfriend that got out of control.

This story is still developing.
