Lucero has been in the middle of controversy after a tabloid magazine published personal photos of the actress posing with wild animals with her millionair boyfriend Michel Kuri. The publication alleges that she was hunting and killing animals with her children, which she has lashed out against in a statement she released on Monday night. "I am very hurt and I find it incredible that they stole photos of my personal life for publication," she said. "What I really find off-target is that they mix pictures of different moments and activities making everyone believe that it was all the same event." The telenovela star was infuriated that in the article her children were included practicing on a shooting range, but Lucero insists they were with an instructor for this summer activity.

"I want to primarily clear up that my children don't make use and are not involved with fire arms. They have taken out of context the photos of a different event where my kids are practicing on a shooting range at a summer activity," the 44-year-old explained. She goes on to elaborate that her children were at all times supervised by experts in the area to be used only there just like they have previously practiced activities like karate, snow and water skiing, soccer, basketball and other sports. This statement was released prior to the release of the magazine before people knew what photos she was talking about.

The news has become a viral sensation on social networks and has caused trending topics like "Lucero Asesina" ("Lucero The Assassin") and "Te Mato Como Lucero" ("I Will Kill You Like Lucero"). Twitter has been inundated with mocking of the photo set and according to journalist Lupita Martinez from "Formula Espectacular," Lucero is extremely upset. Martinez shared that an insider told her that the photo that shows Lucero with red blood on her face is fake and altered by TVNotas. She also added that the singer and actress will be staying in the U.S. for a couple of weeks until the scandal settles down.
