Luis Miguel, better known as “El Sol de México,” is not shining so bright nowadays. The Mexican singer, who began his career as a child star but made it big in the ‘80s with singles such as, “Cuando Calienta El Sol,” “La Incondicional,” and “Ahora te Puedes Marchar,” has had a long and successful career throughout the years.

The singer, who is not only famous because of his music career but also for his “playboy” lifestyle, relied on romantic ballads and “boleros” in the ‘90s to keep propelling his career forward. Unfortunately, LuisMi hasn’t been able to make it big again with original songs, and his recent weight gain is not helping him either.

Earlier this year, the singer began his new tour Déjà Vu, which was reported to be a major flop in Luis Miguel’s career and rumors about a possible retirement are already sparking up.

Here are 5 reasons why we think it’s time for “El Sol de México” to take a permanent break in his career:

1) His hasn’t released a hit song in ages: His new song "Déjà Vu" debuted last year and this is the first time I’m hearing about it.

2) He is losing his voice: It was reported that during a concert in Puebla, MX, LuisMi was humming parts of his songs because he couldn’t hold his notes.

3) He can’t dance: In a music world where spectacle is everything, he can’t compete anymore.

4) He is orange: Ironically, “El Sol de México” has been compared to “Fabiruchis” (Fabián Lavalle) recently because of his tan.

5) He is not as in shape as he used to be: Luis Miguel’s recent weight gain has been the subject of constant jokes, even his colleagues Cristian Castro and Yuri have commented on the subject.
