Louis van Gaal finished an improbable preseason run with Manchester United as English powerhouse beat Spain’s Valencia 2-1 on Tuesday.

The match was Van Gaal’s first game at the Theatre of Dreams and he finishes an impressive preseason as United’s manager with a perfect 6-0 record. The head coach will now focus on the final roster moves before the English Premier League season starts on Saturday afternoon against Swansea city.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez started the game for Manchester United in what may have been his last game for the Red Devils as rumors are swirling that Chicharito has been told to leave United. Chicharito saved a goal off a great defensive header in the first half, and missed a header on offense for a possible goal just minutes later.

Wayne Rooney missed a penalty kick early in the match, but Darren Fletcher scored the first goal of the match only to see Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno get the equalizer in the second half. The game looked like it would end in a draw until Belgium’s Marouane Fellaini scored a last minute goal in stoppage time.

Despite the victory, United had their worst performance of the preseason as many players made poor decisions on the pitch almost costing their team the game. The struggles will most likely prompt Van Gaal and the United brass to make some moves this week swapping the likes of Anderson, Rafael, Nani and Chicharito for Real Madrid’s Angel di Maria, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo.

There are a little over two weeks before the transfer window officially closes, but if today is any indication, it appears Chicharito’s days at Old Trafford are numbered.
