Scorch Trials
The cast of "Maze Runner: Scorch Trials" talk about the new science fiction sequel. Find out what they told us! Latin Times

Thrill, scariness, journey and excitement are the perfect words to describe "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" hitting theaters nationwide on Friday. The sequel of the popular trilogy is home to an action-packed plot, jaw-dropping visuals and cranks...lots of cranks!

According to Giancarlo Esposito, who portrays Jorge in the sequel, cranks, although easily mistaken for zombies, are way different! "Zombies are dead; whereas, cranks are living organisms that go dormant and come back to life when they smell blood...they're fast," he said to Latin Times.

Esposito, as well as Rosa Salazar (Brenda), are the new kids on the block and forming part of the "Maze Runner" cast is something they call "truly amazing." "It's great to be part of this cast, we're in the bridge and to come into this film at this point has been really exciting," Esposito said. "New characters are always welcomed beautifully."

As for the main stars, Dylan O'Brien and Kaya Scodelario, their roles as Thomas and Teresa Agnes in the sci-fi trilogy is something new in their careers. "I've never done action and I've been scared of it," Scodelario told Latin Times, adding that her usual characters are modern and reserved. "This to me was something that I never imagined doing."

Dylan, on the other hand, said that as a YouTube star he's always worked with animated roles. "Thomas is very reserved and really strong," he said. "This is the most work I've ever done, hours wise and the most challenging thing I've ever done until this day," he added.
