Neil Patrick Harris, known to many as "Doogie Houser" and Barney Stinson from "How I Met Your Mother", has been confirmed as host of the 67th Tony Awards ceremony to be held in June. Many fans were hoping to see Neil Patrick Harris return to the stage at Radio City Music Hall this year after his winning performance at the 2012 Tonys.

"It'll be more impressive than ever," Harris guaranteed, "if my math is correct, it will be 267 times bigger than last year," he said in a statement.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Neil Patrick Harris had been seen in audiences across Manhattan at numerous shows, an occurrence they cited as "Harris gathering joke material" for his then-unconfirmed Tony Awards gig.

The 67th Annual Tony Awards will air Sunday June 9 at 8pm Eastern on CBS. Notable performances up for possible awards are "Kinky Boots" and "Lucky Guy". Actors up for nominations are Cicely Tyson from "The Trip To Bountiful" and David Hyde Pierce for "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike". Hyde Pierce is well-known for his previous portrayal of Niles Crane, the brother of the jovial radio host on NBC's "Frasier" in the 1990s.
