It seems we may have our bad guy for the second half of season four for ABC's magical hit-series "Once Upon a Time." Entertainment Weekly reports that "True Blood" star Kristin Bauer van Straten will reprise her role as the evil sorceress Maleficent on the upcoming season.
It is being said that Bauer will return for a multi-episode arc at the end of the second half of season four. Entertainment Weekly and many other sites are reporting that perhaps Maleficent will be the main villain for "OUAT" part two after the "Frozen" storyline ends.
Meanwhile TV Line reports that during "OUAT's" fall preview Q&A the shows creators, Edward Kitsis said of the second half of the upcoming season will follow season 4A's 11-episode fallout on "Frozen." “The seeds are planted in the first 10 [episodes of 4A], so that when you see [the reveal] in 11, you go, ‘Ah, OK.'”
Bauer von Straten has appeared in two episodes of "OUAT" and one episode of the spin-off "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland." If you don't remember the last time we seen Maleficent was at the end of season one but only in her gigantic and frightening dragon form where Emma slayed her. Bauer von Straten's "True Blood" commitment made it difficult for her to return to "OUAT." "Once Upon a Time" returns Sept. 28 at 8:00 p.m., ET on ABC.
