Padre Alberto Cutié, who caused quite a scandal amongst the Church when TVnotas reported he was caught being fondled by a woman at the beach, is back in the public eye. His name has made it to the headlines again, but this time he is making declarations about Eduardo Verástegui’s “Virgin” status. The 40-year-old actor, who has remained “pure” for 13 years, recently told the media that even though he is not having sexual relations, he does masturbate.
During an interview with “Suelta la sopa” Cutié mentioned: “His situation is not celibacy, it is more of a chastity promise, to refrain himself from having sexual relations, and I congratulate him for that. But I think that a man’s perfect state is to be able to love, and if love gets to the point where it needs to be expressed at it’s maximum, and share it with another person, I think abstinence then…In my opinion, if you are a monk, or a nun, it can be an expression of love. But if you are single, abstinence is not the best state for a human being.”
Father Alberto, who now practices in the Episcopalian Church (which allows marriage), also questioned Verástegui’s decision and gave him a piece of advice: “What is your calling? If it’s abstinence, then you should join the clergy. Be a monk, be a religious entity. If it’s not, then find yourself a wife; it is one thing or the other.”
El Padre Alberto is now a biological father; he has two girls.
