The former Garibaldi member revealed secrets from her time with the band, but now she's defending her claims. Telemundo

Patricia Manterola caused controversy this week when she was interviewed by "Suelta La Sopa" when she revealed secrets from her Garibaldi years. For those of you that don't remember, Garibaldi was a pop group that sang México-inspired songs with a modern twist. The ensemble included Manterola, Pilar Montenegro, Luisa Fernanda, Katia Llanos, Xavier Ortiz, Victor Noriega, Charly López and Sergio Mayer. Paty revealed on the gossip show that the latter two did not sing and that she saw a drug and alcohol abuse that pushed people to addiction.

After the sit-down interview aired on Telemundo, Manterola is facing a backlash and took to Facebook to clear things up, accusing the program of editing and giving her words another meaning she did not intend to. "I feel embarrassed, all these years in the business and I haven't learned that when they edit an interview they can give another tone," she wrote. "If I knew that some outlets would take the interview out of context, that I gave to 'Suelta La Sopa' about my live and career to Juan Manuel Cortés, I wouldn't have accepted."

Manterola talked about what she said about the drugs and alcohol that she saw while in the group. She added: "I am sad. There are some statements that I made about my time in Garibaidl about the drugs and alcohol, that were not specifically about the members of the group, but about some of the parties I attended during my time with Garibaldi. In another response I said that sadly some of the band members have become addicted (members that have personally and with bravery talked about the problem they've had) but certain outlets have made it out to be that I had made the revelations for the first time."

Lastly, the "La Voz Kids" host clarified her statement about some of the members not singing. "On the other hand, about some of the members that sang and didn't sing, it's also something that has been talked about before," she said.
