Aria and Ezra in the most recent Season 4 episode, "Hot for Teacher." And while this on and off couple may look happy in this snapshot, Aria won't be smiling at Ezra for a long time after discovering the truth that he is "A." Alloy Entertainment

Ezra, Ezra, Ezra … how I so wanted all of this to be a mistake, but it seems that Rosewood’s seemingly sweet English teacher is actually an evil mastermind, who prefers to go by a one syllable moniker, “A.” But now that all of the Liars, except Aria of course, know that Ezra is in the business of making their lives a living hell, when will this information come to the surface? While we don’t know for sure when this will happen, we are pretty sure we can narrow down the timing using recent spoilers. Unfortunately for Aria is seems like the truth about her boyfriend being “A” will come out sooner rather than later, which for fans is a thrill. Instead of the reveal coming in the Season 4 finale, fans will be watching as Aria enters a downward spiral once the truth comes out. This is a change for “Pretty Little Liars” which normally drops a big reveal and then plays catch up in premieres, without really giving fans the true rise and fall of the Liars. This may be the biggest shock of the series thus far, and it most likely will be revealed in episode 21, which is aptly entitled “She’s Come Undone.” According to the episode synopsis Aria definitely knows Ezra is actually “A,” it reads "Emily, Hanna and Spencer are concerned for Aria as they watch their friend crumble after learning shocking news about Ezra."

It is possible that the “shocking news” Aria learns about Ezra, is unrelated to his recently revealed roles as uber “A,” but the timing makes sense considering we know for sure that Aria will learn of his betrayal in Season 4. According to Wetpaint, it is most likely that Aria will actually discover Ezra’s betrayal in one episode earlier, “Free Fall,” most likely at the end of the episode, allowing the big shock to sink in for a whole, long, week. Both show runner, I. Marlene King and “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale, who portrays the soon to be devastated Aria have commented on the major shocker of Season 4. King provided a bit of a spoiler early on, revealing that Ezra’s reveal occurs due to his fallout from the “A” team, she described it as “heartbreaking to watch.” However, not heartbreaking enough because King also stated that their break up and Aria’s inevitable break down is like a “train wreck, you can’t look away.”

Hale echoed the tragic comments of King, stating that in Season 4 here characters goes “crazy,” the scene in which Aria learns the truth was so dramatic and raw it caused the actress to lose her voice from screaming and crying. Hale revealed that fans will see a new side to Aria in the coming episodes, “You get to see Aria really angry. She's upset about a lot of things. She has pent-up feelings and bottled emotions, and somewhere in the middle of the season, girlfriend just loses it."
