Sony has confirmed that the next update for the PlayStation 4, update 1.75, will arrive to the console next week. Not only that the company revealed that the update will introduce the ability for the console to play 3D Blu-ray films. The company took to every one of its Twitter accounts to let gamers know the feature is coming to every region tweeting, "Coming next week: PS4 system software update 1.75 adds 3D Blu-ray film support. Woo-hoo!"

This new update marks the first time gamers will see new features arriving on the console since April, when ShareFactory was released. This decision to introduce 3D Blu-ray functionality may be in part of Microsoft confirmed that 3D Blu-ray support is heading to its next console the Xbox One.

Earlier this week update 1.74 was released for the PS4 but nothing was really added. Actually the only note from the patch read, "System software stability during use of some features has been improved."

Meanwhile fans of the console are still waiting on on any other other home theater related features such as bluetooth remote, DLNA and MP3 playback.
