Sofía Vergara is not a big fan of made up stories and she let everyone know on Sunday. “Stupid fake journal. Never again use my name to invent stupid fake news,” the Colombian actress wrote on Twitter after coming across a story published by The Journal Daily that claimed she was a Donald Trump supporter.

The article, which has already been taken down from the publication’s website, reportedly discussed a conversation that “The Modern Family” star allegedly had with Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on “The Ellen Show,” where she suggested that she would pick the GOP front-runner over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

According to several sources, the fake article was possibly a failed attempt to generate online traffic. Gossip Cop reports that the “webloid” took it as far as to make up juicy quotes that seem to imply Vergara’s endorsement of the GOP candidate.

For example: “[Trump] is like some of this country’s best leaders, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington… Also, he’s worth four billion dollars,” she supposedly said of the real estate mogul. “You don’t get to be that successful unless you know how to run something. That’s the person I want running this country.”

There’s no word on Trump’s reaction about the news, or if he even acknowledged the fabricated report. However, he did react to the New York Veteran Police Association’s endorsement on Twitter.

“Thank you for today’s endorsement, New York Veteran Police Association! #NewYorkValues,” he tweeted on Sunday night.

Even though Sofía clarified the situation with the perfect tweet, and didn’t need to make things any clearer. Her rep confirmed that the information provided in the piece “isn’t true at all.”

Trump has provoked the rage of the Latino community ever since he called immigrants, Mexicans specifically, “rapists” and “people who have a lot of problems” during his candidacy speech last year. Many Latino celebrities have continuously expressed their discontent with the Presidential hopeful, and Vergara seems to be backing up those statements.
