Poor Stefan hasn't had a good drink like this all summer! Will Damon and Elena be able to rescue the drowning vampire? CW

Season 5 of "Vampire Diaries" started off with a bang fang! A lot happened in "I Know What You Did Last Summer," so before we begin our devilish spoiling of episode 2 "True Lies," lets figure out what exactly the Mystic Falls crew is dealing with. Well the Season 5 premiere of "Vampire Diaries" started off with everyone starting their new fall adventures, Elena and Caroline settle into their new dorm room at Whitmore college only to discover their third roommate is not Bonnie. The two teen vampires are worried not only about Bonnie, but their new mysterious roommate, Megan. Megan seems pretty average, until the girls discover her water is laced with vervane. Oh yeah, things really get tricky for the girls, who obviously start to suspect that Megan knows their secret.

But before Elena and Caroline can even confront their vampire-hating roomie, she is murdered. The three roommates decide to play nice, and head out to their first college party together, Elena and Caroline make up an excuse to head out before Megan. But before they even make it home, Megan calls Elena and is clearly panicked. Their mysterious roommate is screaming and calling for help as she runs from someone or something on the top floor of the house. Before the vampires can help her, she falls from the top floor window with a noticeable bite on her neck.

Back in Mystic Falls, things get even trickier as Silas returns and reveals his true identity in the most gruesome way possible. The 2000-year-old immortal vampire makes a grand re-emergence to Sheriff Forbes by cutting her wrist in public. After the blood sucking fun, Silas has a message for the people of Mystic Falls, "He's un-killable, immortal and psychic and don't ever call him a vampire." Great, just what we need! And as if one crazy old vampire isn't enough, Katherin is back and worse than ever. Now that she is a human, Katherine is in need of Damon's help. Her enemies are hunting the notorious reformed vampire and Silas is one of them.

Now that you're up to vampire speed, what is in store for episode 2 "True Lies?" Well more lies, and more blood, duh! According to the synopsis for episode 2, Damon will team up with a surprisingly ally in his desperate search for Stefan. Damon and Sheriff Forbes join together in the search for the missing Salvatore brother. But he is not the only one on the trail of something; Elena and Caroline will be searching to discover the truth behind their roommate Megan and her mysterious death. Back in Mystic Falls, Matt and Jeremy will team up in an attempt to protect Katherine from the terrifyingly powerful Silas. Newcomer Nadia will not be engaging in any threesomes this week, but will instead be using "violence to make a point."

And while it seems the crew is estranged on their separate searches, Damon and Elena seem united in their guilt over Stefan. In the promo video for "True Lies," Damon expresses his guilt and regret, "Stefan's been drowning over and over again all summer long while I've been playing house with Elena." Now it seems that Damon is more determined than ever to find and protect his brother. While Damon seems more angered by his guilt, Elena seems deeply saddened. "Stefan's been reaching out to me," Elena says through tears. "He's in a lot of pain. We have to find him." Elena's feelings for her ex-boyfriend having never fully went away, will her passion for Stefan return as she searches for him?
