Lupita Nyong’o is a name that’s making a lot of rounds in Hollywood. Her performance in “Twelve Years A Slave” was awarded with an Oscar, among many other recognitions of her unbelievable talent and dedication in a role. Not only was her acting awarded, but also her fashion style. In every red carpet she stepped on, she looked unbelievable, taking advantage of her gorgeous skin tone to play with bright colors and bold designs that looked as if they were painted on her body.

All the red carpet buzz and plus all the awards she took home, and the many projects she has lined up weren’t enough. And Lupita was recently named People Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman. The news was revealed on NBC's Today show. "It was exciting and just a major, major compliment," the 31-year-old humbly gushed. "And especially, I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen.

However, it seems like being in the spotlight isn’t enough for people to learn how to pronounce her name correctly. We agree it’s not the easiest name to say, and Lupita apparently knows it too. She kinda predicted it back in January in the middle of the award season when she posted a video on her Instagram account with a little tutorial on how to pronounce her name right. In the 15-second video she repeats her name several times so people don’t get confused. The first time she sounds the “T” in Lupita, and the second time she says she’s doing the American version, softening the consonant a little bit.

Scroll down and check out the video, and below it, you can find a little compilation Jimmy Kimmel did on the many mispronunciations of Lupita Nyong’o’s name.
