Would a person dare to improve upon the Mona Lisa? No. So how does Nissan manage to improve its GT-R halo car with every model year? Its engineers must be very brave souls indeed.

For 2014, Nissan updates its near-flawless GT-R sports car once again. While the GT-R may look identical from the outside, it's significantly revised on the inside.

Now, the 3.8 liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine will feature new high-output injectors with more precise fuel injection. According to Nissan engineers, the improvement will significantly bump mid-range punch tor the GT-R. What's more, engineers also refined the turbocharger bypass for better sustained acceleration when the GT-R engine reaches higher RPMs. Finally, a redesigned oil pan baffle plate will better stabilize the oil during high-performance driving.

On the handling side, Nissan engineers have meticulously measured the roll center of the GT-R to look for ways to bring the vehicle's center-of-gravity even lower based on the data gathered from the deflection of suspension bushings and tires. The new 2014 GT-R will also receive improved shock absorbers and a new front stabilizer as well. New cam bolts for the front suspension will improve camber accurancy and alignment. A new hub bearing design also stands to improve the GT-R's durability. Finally, reinforcements on the dash panel bar and instrument panel member will increase the GT-R's structural rigidity.

The devils are in the details and that goes for the GT-R's refreshed cabin too. The new GT-R will receive improved leather stitching in the Pure Edition models. The Black Edition will boast a red-and black steering wheel combined with optional Recaro carbon fiber seats. Lastly, the Premium edition will sport a two-tone red-and-black trim design combined with gorgeous hand-stitched genuine Semiarinin leather seats.

Finally, the exterior upgrades available in the 2014 GT-R include a carbon fiber rear spoiler, light-weight Rays wheels, and a Rear View Monitor.

Official images of the new 2014 Nissan GT-R have yet to surface so stay tuned to learn more in the months ahead.
