MTV’s reality television show “Catfish” has been without a co-host since 2018 and is in dire need of one to push through with the show. The American reality-based documentary series features how online dating works, as well as its corresponding interplay of truths and lies. The series has been on hiatus for quite some time due to some sexual misconduct issues and the departure of the previous co-host, Max Joseph.

With the reality show in need of a good rebound to start again, show creator Nev Schulman has been looking for a talent to act as co-host. Due to popular demand and the best available skills, the next co-host should be no other than the multi-talented music star Ariana Grande. Here are three major reasons that the “Thank U, Next” singer should be the next co-host of “Catfish.”

Nev Schulman Wants Her

Schulman lost his co-host, Max Joseph, in 2018 after Joseph decided that he wanted to dedicate all his time to his filmmaking career. “For a while now I have been straddling two careers as TV host and filmmaker and, while this level of busy-ness is a dream come true, my life can no longer sustain it,” posted Joseph on Twitter.

In a recent interview, Schulman actually admitted that he would “love” to have Grande co-host with him on his show. “Fingers crossed, when we start making more episodes, maybe Ariana will do one,” Schulman said. “I'd love to have you on the show, Ariana,” the “Catfish” creator continued.

Ariana Grande Is An Avid Fan

Grande is a fan of “Catfish,” even posting about her binge-watching the show. Schulman was pleasantly delighted by this, especially because of the added publicity it brings to the series. Grande actually follows Schulman on social media, clearly showing that she’s familiar with the show’s content.

“I started getting a lot of mentions on Instagram,” the show host said. “People were saying, ‘Oh my God! Oh My God! Ariana Grande is watching Catfish!’”

She Wants To Appear On The Show

The music star already expressed her interest in appearing on the show, even for an episode. She will undoubtedly do well, with her previous experience in live shows, such as appearing in “Saturday Night Live,” and being a former television star.

Despite the hype, however, the pop star can’t currently fit the show in her schedule. But fans remain hopeful that an announcement of her entering the reality television show would be made soon.
