Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has already been convicted of the Boston Marathon Bombing in the court of public opinion. There are few if any who truly believe that 19-year-old Dzhokhar and his dead brother, 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev did not build and set off the bombs that killed 3 people and injured over 100 more in Boston on April 15, 2013.

Even al Qaeda praised the brothers for carrying out the attack that robbed an 8-year-old boy and two young women of their lives.

"The act of the two great brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar, is but the true image reflected by the oppressive policies of your downtrodden regimes," al Qaeda wrote in the latest issue of their Inspire Magazine. "Americans, you should understand this simple equation: as you kill, you will be killed."

But the mother of the Tsarnaev brothers firmly believes her sons are innocent victims of a corrupt American justice system.

CNN affiliate ITN got an exclusive interview with Zubeidat Tsarnaev the mother of Tamerlan and Dzhokhar. She shared with ITN parts of a recorded phone conversation she had with her son Dzhokhar, from his prison in Massachusetts. In the recording you hear Dzhokhar tell his mother he is fine and being treated well.

Zubeidat Tsarnaev said she was surprised at how calm her son was. She thought he would be screaming and yelling asking questions about what was happening in the world.

"I thought he would scream, you know, like 'what's going on?" Zubeidat said to INT. "Instead he was calming me down."

Tsarnaev's mother asked if he was in any pain. Dzhokhar told her he wasn't and that most of his injuries were healing, with the exception of a wound to the hand.

"No of course not. I'm already eating and have been for a long time," Tsarnaev said to his mom. "They are giving me rice and chicken now, everything's fine."

Tsarnaev's mother told her son he is her life and to be strong.

"Everything is good. Please don't say anything," Tsarnaev replied.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was injured in a shot out with police when they found him hiding in a boat in a residential neighborhood in Massachusetts. Tsarnaev was suffering from wounds sustained in an earlier confrontation with police that killed his older brother.

While hiding in the boat Tsarnaev left a message admitting he and his brother Tamerlan were responsible for the attack.

According to CBS Dzhokhar Tsarnaev called those hurt in Boston "collateral damage" and said it was justified because of the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"When you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims," he wrote.

Despite the evidence piling up against her sons Zubeidat Tsarnaev refuses to believe her sons are guilty.

"It is terrible what happened you know," Zubeidat said to INT. "But I know my kids did not do it."

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev first appeared in "court" when a federal judge visited his hospital bed on April 22. His next court appearance was scheduled for May 30 but was postponed to July 2 so lawyers could gather and review more evidence.
