It has been one heck of a year for Fifth Harmony! In 2015, the girls released their successful debut album "Reflection," featuring chart-topping hits such as "Sledgehammer" and "Worth It." They also won many awards, including Favorite New Artist at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and Best Performance at Premios Juventud. There's no denying that this year was the breakthrough for our favorite girls, Lauren, Ally, Camila, Normani and Dinah. In honor of such an amazing trajectory that embarked in 2012, Billboard is awarding 5H with the Group of the Year award at their Women in Music event to be held on December 11 in New York, where they will also perform.

"Fifth Harmony defines the consummate group dynamic: five women with a strong, united voice and a commitment to celebrating female empowerment," said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group, reports Billboard. "In the few short years since they formed on The X Factor this diverse group of women has managed to make chart-topping music, develop a legion of passionate fans around the world and use their platform to promote self-esteem. They do it all so well, the very definition of a 'Group of the Year.'"

Fifth Harmony, who is currently working on their sophomore album, joins the bandwagon with artists such as Selena Gomez, who will be honored with this year's Chart Topper and Demi Lovato as this year's Rulebraker. Lady Gaga will receive Woman of the Year. Lovato, Gaga, Gomez and Brittany Howard are all expected to perform.

Billboard's Women in Music event will air December 18 on Lifetime.
