The upcoming "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" release date is August 7 in Japanese theaters. Earlier this month, we shared the new movie's cover art design, which features son Bolt standing in the foreground while Naruto is seen behind him with his back turned to show of his Hokage cloak. The tagline of the "Boruto" movie reads: "That's tacky, Hokage/crappy old man."

"This Boruto movie features all new characters, starting everything from zero," said Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto in a special message. "It means, it still exists only in my head, who is the original creator. For the first time in this 11th Naruto movie, I wrote the screenplay all by myself, provided the ideas for character designs, refined them till I was satisfied, then discussed more with the staff seeking perfection. After the serialization finished, I have spent all of my time used to spend for manga to this movie. Here is the Naruto movie that I have really wanted to make. One last word..., now I can't draw anything more than this...."

Over the weekend, manga site Natalie.mu reported that the two new leads in "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" have been confirmed. Boruto Uzumaki will be voiced by Yuko Sanpei. The voice actress also played the voice of Renton Thurston of "Eureka 7," and Cure Dream of "Yes! Precure 5." Next, Sarada Uchiha will be played by Kokoro Kikichu, who voiced Potpourri of "Heartcatch Precure!"

The new "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will reportedly focus on Bolt and Salada, as well as his relationship with father Naruto, and the Konoha Village of the Leaf. While the story will take place during the period following the great war, early "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" rumors suggest that an old character makes a major return. Particularly, Orochimaru may try and take away Boruto and Salada just as he had Sasuke many years ago. Orochimaru's main motivation would be to obtain the next vessel for immortaility and to also possess the Sharingan and Byakugan.

Besides "Boruto: Naruto the Movie," be sure to pay close attention to the highly anticipated "Naruto Gaiden" manga, which is slated to arrive on April 27. In fact, the manga may even shed early light on the upcoming movie that will not arrive in theaters for another couple of months. Stay tuned as we expect to learn what else is in store for the beloved Naruto franchise in the months ahead.
