“The Boys” Season 2 release date has been set for mid 2020. New cast members have also joined the show, as they prepare to tell another big superhero story.

Production has already wrapped, even though the TV series was renewed just a few months ago. Cast member Karl Urban, who is reprising his role as Billy Butcher, made the release date announcement on his Instagram page recently.

In the post, Urban thanked all the cast and crew members of the TV series. He also shared his love for all the fans who helped make the show a massive success.

What will the next season be about? Urban previously told IGN that the next season will be about “humanizing Butcher.” It remains to be seen how the producers will do that, considering the events of the first season.

Along with the returning cast members, a few new actors have joined “The Boys” Season 2. The confirmed cast members who have joined the show are Aya Cash as Stormfront and Patton Oswalt playing a “secret role.” The other two newcomers whose role hasn’t yet been revealed are Goran Visnic and Claudia Doumit, who have joined as series regulars.

The next season will be “bigger and bloodier.” Show creator Eric kripke previously shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the production set with some of the actors in makeup, showing their blood-soaked faces.

The fans are excited about what the story in the next season will be about. One theory suggests that Homelander (Antony Starr) will use Becca (Shantel VanSanten) to make sure The Boys don’t interfere with The Seven. This will result in the heroes focusing their efforts on individual superheroes and smaller teams, much like the way it panned out in the comics.

The Boys may get to fight teams like the G-Men and the newcomer Stormfront. The fans will have to wait for the show to be released to find out what the actual plot will be.
