A Brooklyn teenager was killed Thursday (September 5) when his remote-controlled helicopter stop functioning properly and sliced off the top of his own head, according to a law enforcement official. The 19-year-old has been identified as Roman Pirozek Jr., a helicopter enthusiast that was a member of a New York RC helicopter club. Reports also indicate that the blades sliced off a piece of his skull and sheared off part of his shoulder. When officials arrived to the scene, Roman was already dead.

The dramatic scene took place at Calvert Vauz Park in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, close to Coney Island. Pictures from the scene, show detectives scoping out the scene and examining the toy helicopter that took Pirozek's life. His Facebook page shows that he has an avid enthusiast for flying these toy helicopters, even uploading videos of him and his favorite hobby.
