A relationship can form in two manners: passion or dedication. Intense and powerful, passion is what causes a flame to ignite. After that, it's up to dedication and commitment to make sure that the flame never goes out.

David Duran bought an 1987 BMW 325i when he was 18 years old. When he first got it, Duran admitted that he felt like he was at the top of the world. But what would a teenager know about dedication? Apparently, more than most.

It was really a BMW E30 M3 that first got David Duran's heart racing but a 325i was the closest to what he could actually afford. A daily driver, David formed a real strong bond with his BMW. "I love this car because of just the way it feels. It has a certain growl to the sound of it that a lot of BMW's have. It's sort of like this inner breath when you turn it on that I haven't felt in other car."

"I thought of giving up and maybe just getting rid of it or selling it. But, after debating for quite a while, I thought if I put $3,000, $5,000 into it, I would still have the car I love and I wouldn't change it for anything. What I would like happen to the car would be to pass it on. It's been with me for this long so if we're lucky enough to still have it around when my son is ready to drive, I'd want him to drive it. If he happens to crash it, that would be a part of the complete story.

"Everything you have in your life, even the material things, are a reflection of who you are. My car, after having it for such a long time, is a reflection of who I am."

Duran's 25 year old BMW 325i is beautiful as it is humble and it is rare for such an "ordinary" car to represent such an honest and genuine appreciation to life.

Shot by Frazer Spowart, Duran's 325i marks the beginning to Cars I See, a series on Vimeo that explores cool cars and people's relationship with them. Enjoy the video below:
