Courtney Stodden and Dough Hutchison have announced they have filed for legal separation after 2 years of marriage. Stodden, married the 51-year-old "Green Mile" star Hutchison when she was only 16 years old causing controversy and criticism along the way due to the severe age difference. The now 19-year-old model met the actor at an acting workshop that he was teaching. The two hit it off and kept in touch over the internet and only continued their relationship after her mother, Krista Stodden, approved. Stodden and Hutchinson went on to get married causing scandal and making the pair a fixture in tabloid magazines. "We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," the couple told E! News in a statement in 2011. "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless." Courtney's mother chimed in and told RadarOnline, "Doug is a wonderful man and we love him. Courtney was a virgin when she married Doug. She is a good Christian girl."

Courtney Stodden who was one of the contestants of "Celebrity Big Brother UK" this summer released a statement to Daily Mail where she confirms the separation. "After two and a half years of marriage, Courtney and Doug have decided to become legally separated. Courtney was married at a young age," the statement reads. "Now, at nineteen, she’s interested in exploring life as an unmarried single young adult – with the freedom to explore her independence. Doug supports Courtney 100 per cent. The two will share custody of their precious pup, Dourtney, remain living in the same house [for now] in separate bedrooms, and Doug will be co-managing Courtney’s career." The statement closes with a joint quote by the couple where they say, "We love each other very much, want for each other’s happiness, and will continue being the best of friends for life."

To "Celebrity Big Brother" viewers the news is not too surprising, even though the starlet claimed to be deeply in love with her husband, her actions said otherwise. Housemates questioned Stodden's feelings after a task had Hutchison come into the CBB house and the couple not kissing affectionately. But Courtney's loyalty to her man became a bigger question mark when she was tied to fellow contestant and "The Only Way Is Essex" star Mario Falcone. For the task, both housemates were forced to spend a day together with their hands tied to each other and the camera was able to catch a moment where Stodden was caressing Falcone's hand under the table. In another moment Courtney was "buzzing" after having alcohol and became extremely flirtatious to the point where she made Mario uncomfortable as she was a married woman.

Courtney and Doug claim in the statement that the separation was amicable, but insiders are saying otherwise. “Doug’s world has been turned upside down, but for Courtney, it’s far from that. She is embracing singledom. It’s clear she has finally emerged to be able to call all the shots,” an insider told RadarOnline. The site is also reporting that Courtney was the one to evict Hutchison from his home, which happened before the Halloween bash the glamour model hosted last week. The couple previously worked out through their age difference issues on the VH1 reality series "Couples Therapy," but it seems like this time, no show could resolve these issues.
