Last May 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a lavish wedding and it was a fairy tale come true! However, according to Express, the couple, along with Prince William were upset, just days before the royal wedding.
During the wedding rehearsal, the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex were apparently “in a flood of tears,” and this even made Prince William unhappy and distressed on behalf of his younger brother. Why? Well, The Sun reported last year that Harry and Meghan were “sobbing” because of Meghan’s father.
It was reported that the couple was upset because Meghan’s father decided not to attend the royal wedding. It is believed that Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, got tangled with the paparazzi in a staged photoshoot in the US. Meghan and the Palace had to request the media to let her father be. But, citing health issues, Thomas dropped out of the wedding.
If you remember the royal wedding, we all saw Meghan enter St. George’s chapel alone. However, Prince Charles offered his support and walked his daughter-in-law down the aisle midway.
A wedding courtier reportedly said, “They were both in tears at what was going on with Meghan’s father in America. Prince William was pretty upset as well.”
It is believed that the Sussexes fervently pleaded with Meghan’s father to grace the wedding. But, it was all futile. During the wedding rehearsal, the royal couple was all smiles while they were being driven in a carriage and later they joined Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland for a tea with the Queen.
The same day, Harry and Meghan met Kate and William at the Windsor Castle. Harry and William then went on to interact with a group of well-wishers.
