Fiat first proved that city cars can be chic when it introduced the cute Cinquecento back in 1957. In its current guise, Fiat demonstrates that city cars can be exclusive and luxurious as well, offering a multitude of special-edition Fiat 500 over its production period. Now, in line with this year's Mille Miglia, Fiat has introduced its latest special-edition 500 - the new Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati.
As the performance moniker Abarth and the luxury marque Maserati suggests, the latest Fiat is packed with goodies. Similar to the previous Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari, the Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati will receive a tuned 1.4 liter turbo 4-cylinder engine producing 180-hp, a dual-mode exhaust system as well as a paddle-shifting automated manual transmission.
However, unlike the performance-oriented Tributo Ferrari, the lifestyle-oriented Edizione Maserati will be based on the 500C Abarth convertible. Painted exclusively in a deep maroon Pontevecchio Bordeaux from the Maserati catalog, the Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati will also wear a set stylized 17-inch Maserati trident Neptune wheels finished in gunmetal at each corner.
For the interior, the Fiat sports lush Poltrana Frau leather seating and trim pieces, a black leather-wrapped steering wheel, and matte-carbon accents on the dash. Finally, to really push the Fiat to the very edge of fine luxury, the Abarth 695 Maserati will also feature bespoke '695' stitching on its headrests as well as a Jaeger LeCoultre clock on the instrument panel.
Unfortunately, only 499 units of the Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati will be produced, and all examples will be sold only in Europe. But don't despair, check out the awesome pictures of the Edizione Maserati below:
