Newsom Mocks Trump “Alcatraz Will Reopen When Epstein Files Are Released”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom again mocked President Donald Trump, now posting a Labor Day message parodying his communication style.

"Happy Labor Day to all, including the scum that is trying to destroy our country with a sick, warped, radical mind—killing small businesses with crazy tariffs, taking health care from children, pardoning J6 thugs, sending the "private army" to arrest grandma, wrecking our beautiful environment, defunding our schools, and destabilizing long-standing international relationships," Newsom's press office began in an X post.

"Hopefully the United States Supreme Court, and other good and compassionate judges throughout the land, will save us from the decisions of the monsters who want our country to go to hell. But fear not—we have made great progress in recent weeks, and America will soon be safe and great again!" the message concluded.

Newsom has taken a more prominent role in the political conversation ever since spearheading a retaliation against Republicans over their redistricting initiative in Texas.

Speaking to tech journalist Kara Swisher, Newsom said he will continue with his strategy, claiming it began because he wanted to "put a mirror up to the absurdity of all of this."

"The all-cap tweets, Trump putting himself on memes as the Pope or putting him on memes as Superman or with his shirt off, on top of different superhero characters or dinosaurs. I mean, it's comical. And yet, it's become so normalized and socialized in a way that's not even critiqued on the extreme right. And so I just wanted to challenge that and challenge all these pundits out there, challenge all these people, all these acolytes, people that are just fawning over a guy who puts his picture up on Mount Rushmore that does text like a 13-year-old or a 10-year-old," he added.

Newsom added that the criticism is not only aimed at Trump, but to friendly networks as well. "It's a mirror not just to Trump himself, but to these networks. These are the chatbots for the administration. And it's not just Fox, it's One America News, it's Newsmax, and it's all the folks in the right-wing media. And I'm glad they're melting down over it," he added.
