'GTA 5' New DLC To Be PS4 Exclusive? Rockstar Favors PlayStation Over Xbox, PC [REPORT]

On Wednesday, a number of reports have claimed that there is possibly a new single-player "GTA 5" DLC that will be exclusively released for PS4. According to Gameranx, the rumors should be taken with a grain of salt as Playstation DLC exclusivity usually only means "time exclusivity," as in PS4 merely receives the DLC earlier than everyone else. Regardless, the exclusive PS4 DLC definitely has plenty of merit as Playstation marketing executive John Koller announced that the PS4 version of "GTA 5" will possess a "special perk" over the Xbox and PC.

So what exactly is this special perk? According to prolific "GTA 5" leaker and YouTuber DomisLive, the PS4 will also be the only system that will offer "GTA 5" direct-download at midnight release. This way, PS4 gamers could already be playing while gamers on Xbox and PC would still be waiting on line at the store.

Regardless of what the DLC content is, Rockstar Games' decision to favor "GTA 5" on PS4 from the beginning speaks volumes regarding what's to come in the DLC's ahead-- as in there could be more PS4 exclusive DLC's in the future.

According to PlayStation marketing executive John Koller, the PS3:Xbox 360 sales ratio swung well into PS3's favor. No doubt, Rockstar believes the trend will continue on in the next-gen PS4 vs. Xbox One battle as the PS4 outsells the Xbox One at least 3 to 1, according to International Business Times.

"GTA is a PlayStation franchise," Koller boldly claimed in an interview with Kotaku at E3. "It started with us. We really feel strongly that it belongs as a key platform driver for us.

"GTAV is going to be, I think, a title we'll talk about more in the weeks and months to come," said Koller, "but GTAV and the GTA franchise is something that will be something very special on PlayStation."
